New Music Review: Born Wid It by CeCile.

       

"Born Wid It" is a brand new dancehall single by CeCile, produced by Cyclone Music Group/J Vibe Production. CeCile is one of the few female dancehall artistes that can switch up easily between dancehall and reggae. She sings well, Djs well and she can actually write. I don't say that about many Jamaican entertainers so it's always great to hear when she comes out with new music.

"Born Wid It" reminds me of 90's dancehall while still managing to sound 2015 fresh, showcasing one more example that dancehall entertainers don't have to jump on some hip hop sounding rhythm to have a hit song. "Born Wid It" is not at all sleazy, more like adult female sex education which is never a bad thing. We are all adults and sexual beings after all. Women need more songs like this one to help them to own their sexuality and take more control when it comes to sex. In true dancehall form of course the song "throws some words" at women who can't please their partner but it doesn't take away from the fact that  the lyrics are on point, the chorus is catchy and it's a song that we ladies can "bruk out" to in the parties so that's a plus.
